Beverly DeHoniesto, a native of Pittsburgh, PA graduated from Antioch College, The Center for the Study of Basic Human Problems, (campus in Washington D.C.) with a degree in Education and Political Science. Living in Washington D.C., for over 17 years, she worked in political organizing working on presidential campaigns, Human Rights projects, nationally and internationally and many other political organizing enterprises, including working with the Washington Office on Africa, Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm’s National Organization for Women and with Stevie Wonder’s efforts to make Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday a National Holiday, all of which she considers involved educating people. Relocating to Florida, Ms. DeHoniesto worked at FSCJ tutoring students with disabilities and with DCPS with students with Asperger’s and Autism. After subbing in the public schools, she joined the staff of A. Philip Randolph Academy for technologies for three years where she set District records in reading growth for her students. As always, she has only two standards: Academic growth and Excellence.
